Inter-Denominational Youth Seminar Addresses Human Trafficking and Behavioral Deviation in Manado

MANADO — On Saturday, May 31, 2025, a collaborative educational seminar dedicated to safeguarding the younger generation was successfully held at the KGMPI Imanuel Tumumpa Church. The significant inter-church event brought together the Seventh-day Adventist Youth of Manado Region 7 and the Youth of KGMPI Imanuel Tumumpa to address two critical social challenges: the prevention of human trafficking and the mitigation of youth behavioral deviation.

The seminar featured comprehensive presentations from distinguished experts. dr. Felly Nova Mambu, Founder of the Yayasan Kasih Pengharapan Abadi, alongside Prof. Dr. Ruth Umbase, M.Hum., from the State University of Manado (UNIMA), delivered profound insights into the pressing issues facing today’s youth. The speakers provided the attendees with vital knowledge regarding the deceptive mechanisms of human trafficking networks and offered practical, moral guidance on navigating the complex social pressures that often lead to juvenile delinquency.

This joint initiative underscored a unified commitment to the moral and spiritual development of the youth. By equipping these young individuals with critical awareness and a strong ethical foundation, the event successfully fostered a more resilient, informed community capable of recognizing and combating severe societal threats. The gathering not only educated the participants but also strengthened the collaborative ties between the youth of both congregations.
